East Texas Baroque Concert Oct 6

Chamber ensemble East Texas Baroque will performing a concert at the First Presbyterian Church of Austin, at 8001 Mesa Drive, on Friday, October 6 at 8:00pm. The program will feature music from the French Baroque, with works of Corrette, Couperin, Hotteterre, Loeillet, and Boismortier.

East Texas Baroque [ETB] is comprised of flutist Christina Guenther, violinist Jennifer Dalmas, cellist Evgeni Raychev, and harpsichordist Ron Petti. Each member is the professor of his/her respective instrument at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. All four earned the Doctor of Music degree from the Florida State University College of Music where they studied period instrument performance practice in addition to their respective modern instruments. While the harpsichord is the only instrument in the group that is a period instrument (the flute, violin, and cello played are all modern instruments), the group strives to provide informed performances with regard to Baroque performance practice. ETB hopes to present the audience with an enjoyable and exciting listening experience and to provide an aural glimpse into the vast array of Baroque music.
